Sabut Haldi

“Sabut Haldi,” “Turmeric Finger,” and “Khadi Haldi” all refer to whole turmeric root, which is the raw form of turmeric before it’s processed into powder. In Indian cuisine and traditional medicine, turmeric is widely used for its flavor, color, and medicinal properties. “Sabut Haldi” is the Hindi term for whole turmeric, “Turmeric Finger” is a term used in the spice trade, and “Khadi Haldi” is another name for raw turmeric used in various Indian languages. These terms may be used interchangeably to refer to the same thing: the unprocessed, fresh turmeric root.
